So now that the cat's out of the bag and the Day 1 workouts have been posted for the NorCal Regionals, how are those of you who
are competing going to spend the rest of the week preparing?

And if you're not competing, are you going to try your hand at either or both of the workouts yourself?

If I were a religious man Id spend the rest of my week praying. But since im not, ill be looking to make rx.... and in the allotted time of course.
Anyone want to attempt WOD B tomorrow with me? im looking to do it scaled the first time, probably 175lbs and work my way to 185 through the remainder of the week. I may not be religious but im all about charity, so Im willing to accept prayers in my honor :)

I just woke up from a dream where I was going to be rafting down the grand canyon (a month-long trip) and was woefully unprepared. I was at the put-in point, but I had forgotten to pack a number of critical items, my bags were falling apart and not waterproof, and I was desperately struggling to figure out how to get my shit together before the boat left.

So yeah, I'll be spending the next few days trying to get 165 overhead and 185 to my shoulders. Fortunately I have lifting shoes that match my new tracksuit, so I've got that going for me. I'm planning to work jerks today and cleans tomorrow, then spend the early part of the week planning my outfits for each workout. Thursday and friday will be dedicated to getting my hair and nails done, along with a deep, cleansing facial scrub and a pedicure. Somewhere in there I also need to work on my tan - this is starting to stress me out!

Best case scenario, my technique improves enough that I can do the workouts Rx. If not, I guess I could go play golf saturday instead.

I'll also be happy to help anyone who needs help with muscle-ups. I'm hoping to be at the 4pm class today.

Allen, I heartily approve of your preparation techniques. That facial scrub is sure to put you over the top. G, I'm in tight with both Odin and Baal. I will put in a good word for you and perhaps sacrifice a chicken in your honor.

As per Franklin's suggestion, I am going to see how long it takes me to put 165 over my head 10 times. That's a heavy weight for me and after doing 30 burpees and trying to get 135 over my head 10 times, I can attest that it does not feel good. If I can do 165 lbs 10 times in 5 minutes, I will be happy.

My secret weapon for the qualifiers? Wishful thinking. I am going to spend about 10 minutes giving myself a hug every evening and softly chanting, "I'm a winner."

Today I worked on getting the specified (scaled) weight overhead. After gradually working up to 105#, I did 10 reps push-jerk in 1:30 (2 sets). After that I did the entire workout A to see how the same weight felt after doing 500m row and 30 burpees. Not too bad! The clock got stopped, but I'm sure I was well under the 10 minute cut-off. Threw in a few dips and jumping muscle-ups.

Thanks, Angela, for all the help on cleans the last few months!

Allen- for the tan I suggest Lindsey Lohan's new self tanner. it is supposed to be fab. but do start applying it a few days in advance so that you can be sure to build a nice and even tan.

Awesome work, Joe!

Go get 'em!

joe, you're going to do an awesome job and I'm gonna be there screaming @ you the entire time. Way to represent the "over forty club"

Journey, thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to do that. Tom, It looks like I'm going to need some pretty big helpings of Wishful Thinking as well. That is the new Paleo/Zone flavor from Ben and Jerry's, right? Do you know they if carry it at Costco?

The Fuel2Go menu for Wednesday delivery is available at www.fuel2go.blogpsot.com. Please place your orders by Tuesday, April 26th! As always, thanks for your support, and we look forward to feeding all of you fit folks at the Norcal Qualifiers this coming weekend.

there's a typo in the above fuel2go blog address - it's actually www.fuel2go.blogspot.com

> Do you know they if carry it at Costco?

In fact, they do. It's right alongside the "Make Me Stronger" Flax Oil supplements.

I am going to drive down and give the Rx'd weights in the workouts a go on Tues sometime in the am.
After Tues then I will know alot more about were I stand, at this point I'm a little shakey! The rest of the week I'll be taking it EASY and wishing for my best.

I love that so many CFOers have a chance of placing!!! I am humbled in your presence. That reminds me - Candace, I respect your presence and the 200 freaking muscle-ups you're gonna do this weekend.

Sierra, I second your anticipation of watching Candace go off.

As for me, I went back to CFO at 4:00 and worked on the cleans for workout B. Was that just this morning that I did workout A? I'm a little over-excited.

I'm looking forward to having some serious fun at this thing......rx'd or scaled not sure yet. So far my preparation has been solely through visualisation, I'll be at the CFO box all week and would appreciate any suggestions, tips, pointers, advice, strategy on how to kick some butt on Saturday.

Sierra - when are you going to stop bowing at others? you are competing this weekend too and will do fantastically. you're super awesome and I am humbled in your presence.

oh, BTW, why did you leave me alone with the workout today?
